In the wake of the Call of Duty 4 release (see post below for the Circuit City deal, it expires tomorrow...), I took a quick assessment of the new 360 titles coming out over the last 2 weeks and into the next couple of weeks:
The Orange Box
Call of Duty 4
Assassin's Creed
Mass Effect
Guitar Hero III
Rock Band
Final Fantasy XI: Wings of the Goddess
and I get a little irritated that so many AAA titles are being released on the heels of others. It makes it very difficult to make decisions, and I'm not the kind of guy who is willing to drop $65 on a game every week. It didnt used to be this way. But I supposed with the dollars at stake, every developer wants to be the next franchise title.
Anyway, I've committed to Mass Effect. I'll buy absolutely anything from BioWare, and according to GameInformer, its the second coming.
In a related story, Newsweek reports that NPD is going to start withholding sales figures for the major consoles from those who do not pay for it. I'm not sure what the goal is with doing this, but it might get a little harder to determine who the leaders are. Make room for the fanboys and their mindless conjecture on how [insert console name here] just pwns [insert console here].
The last sales figures for September basically confirm the obvious - Halo 3 wins.
And for the record, the correct answer in the above MadLibs is, in the following order: Xbox360, Playstation 3.
One last thing - if anyone has tips on that blasted IWHBYD skull, please post below. I've tried several YouTube videos, walkthroughs - I can't find anything that is consistent. I went too far and the save system bumped me to Cortana, so now I have to play the level all over again. Sigh.
